Comics is particularly important in Luxembourg, where it has its own long-standing festival in Contern. We have prepared something special for all fans of this genre – a retrospective exhibition showing nearly 70 years of Polish comics. Poland is considered to be one of the world leaders in this domain, owing to its wide variety of comics and their artistic merits.

A must for those who strive to capture the diverse facets of Luxembourg and the stunning variety of its abundant fauna and flora. The long-serving president of the Polish Nature Photographers' Union will share with us his vast experience in nature and documentary photography. A perfect combination of theory and practice in the field (literally!) will take your shots to the next level.

The workshop will begin with an organizational meeting on June 28th (Sunday) at 7.00 p.m. in Ancien Cinéma (23, Grand Rue, Vianden). The aim of the meeting is to establish a detailed schedule together with the participants. Practical classes in nature photography will take place in the Luxembourg Ardennes (the Sûre Valley, Chateau de Bourscheid, etc.), while classes in documentary photography – in the urban space of Luxembourg. Evening sessions (viewing photos together, their evaluation, discussion, lectures and seminars) will be held in locations agreed with the participants in a meeting on June 28th.

Do you dream of playing in a professional blues or rock band? Do you want to express yourself better through your instrument, refine your technique and learn how to perform as part of a band? This is a unique opportunity to do just that: a workshop with a Polish blues star, charismatic singer and multi-instrumentalist! Polonia Rocks is a Polish rock band permanently established in Luxembourg, which we could hear and see last year in Kulturfabrik, in Sang & Klang at the closing event of the CinEast Festival, as well as in Ancien Cinéma at the opening event of a new website of polska.lu. The band plays the greatest Polish hits from the '50s to the present day. Their repertoire comprises songs of Polish music stars, such as Kayah, Krzysztof Krawczyk, Maryla Rodowicz, Golec uOrkiestra, Łzy, Bajm, 2+1, Lady Pank, Perfect, Lombard, Budka Suflera, Awantura, Ivan Komarenko, Tadeusz Woźniak, Kult and many others.

The special guest of the evening will be Krzysztof „Chriss” Krysiński, known from the fourth series of „The Voice of Poland”!

The concert will be followed by a DJ party (from 10 p.m.) with Polish music of all times, Polish beer and snacks.

Magda Piskorczyk & Band – the best Polish blues singer with her band will be hosted by the most famous blues scene in Luxembourg!

Magda Piskorczyk & Band – acknowledged as the best Polish blues singer and multi-instrumentalist, she is known worldwide for the mature and unusual timbre of her voice. Her arrangements of funk, blues, gospel, soul, rock and jazz classics, as well as her original compositions, have been described as "innovative, quirky and fun".

Magda Piskorczyk plays acoustic, electric and bass guitar, as well as percussion. Described in France as “la voix noire et au costume blanc” (Black voice in a white costume). Magda performs music of Afro-American and African heritage. She is a two-time semi-finalist of the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, USA, and the Female Vocalist of the Year 2003, 2004, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2012 and 2013, chosen by readers of the Polish blues quarterly. In 2009 Magda was invited to play with Konoba, an international band performing traditional West African music. She tours regularly with her band, and has performed at numerous festivals almost all over Europe and in Taiwan.

Music of Magda Piskorczyk is her tasteful arrangements of funk, blues, gospel, soul, rock and jazz classics, as well as her original compositions. Despite her music being deeply set in the African-American tradition, it is very personal and innovative at the same time. Joy and humour, great emotions and energy are mixed with deep messages, melancholy and moving sincerity. An unusual, very expressive vocal performance and perfectly matched sounds of guitars, a Hammond organ, a saxophone, percussion or other instruments make this music unique and captivating. Magda is known for her excellent connection with the audience, leading them to collective singing, emotional shouting, hand clapping, snapping their fingers and general joyful involvement in the performance, as well as deep reflection. She has performed with many famous musicians, such as Bob Margolin, Bob Brozman, Seckou Keita, Greg Zlap, Rita Engedalen, Slidin’ Slim and Engerling group. In Summer 2010 she gave 22 concerts with harmonica virtuoso, Blues Award Winner Billy Gibson.
